FREE CHANGES WHILE YOU CAN...
Planning, planning, planning...
This issue is much more important than we think.
"Cut the hair, measure forty times, and cut once..."
It seems like these are not our proverbs, because our actions do not align with these sayings.
Those who have a brain take enough time for planning, and when they start something, it progresses without problems.
Those with plenty of money and time start without thinking, ignoring setbacks, because both time and money have no value.
But what about those who have limited money and time, and start without proper planning?
The choice is yours...
Well, as we know, Turkey is a developing country. Money is limited, and time is very valuable.
But here’s the interesting part: we act as though we have unlimited money and time.
You can probably guess where I’m going with this.
Yes, it’s about projects and construction.
You can make any changes you want to the project. These changes are free. You can make rooms whatever size you want, paint the walls any color, or even tear down a wall for free to enlarge your room.
But once the project is completed and the building is constructed, every change you want to make will come with a cost and will take time. Even something as simple as changing the color of a room will take time, and you’ll have to endure a week of paint fumes.
No need to reinvent the wheel here.
If you use a low-strength material for the partition wall instead of brick, of course, it will crack.
If you use unprotected plaster elements in areas with large temperature differences, it will crack.
If you build the building on different types of ground, there will be settlement cracks.
If you make the entire exterior of the building glass, like in a place like Elazığ, your heating costs in winter and cooling costs in summer will increase drastically.
If the inspector’s fees are paid by the one being inspected, the inspection will be compromised!
And the list goes on...
In construction or social areas, wherever it may be, planning is free.
You can change your idea and take a different path; changing your mind is free. But if you set off and then have to turn back or change direction, both your money and time will be wasted.
Life is divided into two parts: PROJECT and PRODUCTION.
Those who require timely and cost-efficient production must give the project the necessary importance and time.
Those who see project planning as just a few lines, a few sentences, or a few words will inevitably waste a lot of money and time during the production phase.
